Vision Statement on Civility

Each person, as a member of The University of West Alabama community, should have respect for others and respect their views and ideas. Each person should conduct himself or herself in such a manner as to maintain a learning environment at the University. In an effort to maintain the educational environment of the University, students are asked to respect the rights of others to carry on a conversation. Loud or abusive language is not conducive to a positive environment and should be avoided.  While the University is committed to freedom of expression and does not restrict constitutionally protected speech, UWA encourages members of the University community to act in a manner that is supportive of civility, both on and off campus.
