Counseling Office


The Counseling Office, located in Foust Hall #7, houses a licensed professional counselor who provides free counseling services and preventive education to enrich and support the academic, emotional, social, and occupational functioning of students, faculty, and staff with the University of West Alabama. Available services include individual, group, and family therapy; academic counseling; enrichment workshops and seminars; consultation' and referrals. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to seek help for personal concerns including but not limited to academic problems, addictions, anger management, depression, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, grief and loss issues, sexual abuse recovery, and treatment for clinical disorders.

The Counseling Office is also responsible for contributing to the university’s retention efforts and is the location of UWA’s peer tutoring program.
