Fundraising By Student Organizations

FUNDRAISING

All fundraising activity including events and direct solicitation for donations or sponsorships for the support of University programs or activities by a department (faculty or staff member), should have prior signed clearance from the Vice President of Institutional Advancement by submitting a Fund Raising Request form at least two weeks before the initiative. University departments that have been granted permission should turn in all income to the UWA Foundation, citing individual donors with amounts to the Office of Institutional Advancement for tax purposes.

All direct solicitations or fundraising events by a student organization should have prior clearance from Byron Thetford, Director of Student Life, by submitting a memorandum stating the purpose, the projected goal, beginning and ending dates, and the organization's name and advisor. This request can be completed HERE. A new request must be submitted for each new initiative or fundraising event. The organization should provide a list of individual donors making donations over $75 to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement for tax purposes. After the drive is complete, the organization should report the total amount generated to the Director of Student Life. Solicitations among only members of an organization are excluded from this policy.
