Core Curriculum Requirements
Students transferring from Alabama public two-year and four-year colleges and universities should consult the AGSC site for complete details regarding Areas I-IV for all majors, including the list of approved courses for each institution. Specific requirements for students majoring in Engineering Technology at Alabama public two-year schools and for UWA pre-Industrial Technology majors are included below.

Area I - Written Composition (6 semester hours)
AGSC: No specific courses required beyond the AGSC requirements. Area II - Humanities and Fine Arts (12 semester hours)
AGSC: There are no specific courses required for majors beyond the AGSC requirements, but the following course is strongly preferred: AL College System Course Titles | SPH 107 . Fundamentals of Public Speaking | UWA: Students planning to complete the bachelor's degree are required to complete the pattern in humanities and fine arts as listed below: UWA Course Titles | AL College System Course Titles | Choose one of the following sequences: | | EH 221 . AGSC: Students planning to complete the bachelor's degree are required to complete the pattern in natural sciences and mathematics as listed below: Area IV - History, Social, and Behavioral Sciences (12 semester hours)
AGSC: Student planning to complete a bachelor's degree must take a course in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and the behavioral sceinces (psychology, sociology, or anthropology or an integrated course covering some of these topics). UWA: Students at UWA should select one course from the following: Area V - Pre-professional, Major, and Elective Courses at UWA (19 semseter hours)
