Engineering Technology Major

The mission of the Engineering Technology degree is to prepare students for employment in supervision, and/or technical areas in industry, business, governmental, or service agencies.  The Engineering Technology degree provides students a background in applied engineering technical courses by combining hands-on laboratory training with mathematics, science, and general education.

The minimum number of hours required for the major in Engineering Technology is 121 semester hours.

Basic Curriculum Component


I. Written Composition: 6 hours


II. Humanities and Fine Arts: 12 hours


III. Natural Sciences and Mathematics: 12 hours


IV. History, Social, and Behavioral Sciences: 12 hours


V. Computer Information Systems: 3 hours


VI. Electives: 6-8 hours


A. Six to eight semester hours from the following:


  • UWA 101 is required for beginning freshmen at UWA and for transfer students who transfer fewer than 20 hours.

    • Advisor approved electives (6-8)
