Master of Science in Data Science

Program Admission Requirements:

The following are specific admission requirements for entry into the Master of Science in Data Science program. Please refer to the Graduate Catalogue for specific program admission requirements.

Completed online application for admission, including nonrefundable application fee;
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 2.75 grade point average (four-point scale) or Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 or higher GPA (four-point scale), and official final transcripts from all institutions of higher education (community colleges, bachelor's programs, post-graduate programs).
While no specific degree is required, a background in engineering, business, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or information technology is desirable.

DS 570. Fundamentals of Machine and Deep Learning Credits: 3

II. Program Completion Requirements:

The following requirements must be met prior to completion of the MS in Data Science program.

Completion of all courses required in the curriculum with a 3.0 quality point average. Any awarding of an F or D grade results in immediate dismissal from the graduate program. A maximum of two C grades is allowable; however, the awarding of a third C grade results in dismissal from the MS in Data Science program.
Make a satisfactory score on a comprehensive examination documenting mastery of the curriculum of the program, which can be taken no earlier than the completion of twenty-four (24) semester hours of coursework in the program.
Completed application for degree and satisfaction of all UWA financial obligations.
