Taxonomic principles; identification, characteristics, and evolution of the geologically important fossil groups; principles of biostratigraphy; and the cataloguing of fossils collected in the field. Includes several local and one-day field trips. Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisites: Twelve hours of biology and permission of Dean. Corequisites: Recommend ES 100 as prerequisite or corequisite.
