MU 305. Introduction to Jazz

The evolution of jazz from 1920 to the present, with attention to the elements of jazz, combo jazz, big band jazz, and important soloists and arrangers. Prerequisites: MU 100 or a combination of MU 101 combined with two (2) credits of appropriate university music ensemble.
