NS 410. Evidence-based Practice and Concepts of Nursing Research Credits: 3 This course prepares students to demonstrate knowledge of the interrelationships among theory, practice, and research. At the end of this course, the student should have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate an understanding of the basic elements of the research process and ways of applying evidence to clinical practice; advocate for the protection of human participants when research is conducted; evaluate the credibility of sources of information; participate in the retrieval, appraisal, and synthesis of evidence in collaboration with others; integrate evidence, clinical judgment, interprofessional perspectives, and patient preferences into the plan of care; and collaborate when collecting, documenting, and disseminating evidence.
