MLS 360. Clinical Chemistry I

This course involves performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid. Quality control, which is an essential component of the clinical laboratory, is emphasized together with preventative maintenance of testing equipment. Students learn both operation and application of instrumentation in a clinical chemistry laboratory. Appropriate measures to identify preanalytical variables affecting sample integrity are taught to students to ensure quality reporting of test results.
