MH 100. Basic Algebra

Developmental course required for students who lack adequate proficiency in basic skills of algebra. Students that need additional work in algebra before taking MH 101, Intermediate Algebra are assigned to MH 100 on the basis of standardized test scores or placement test scores. Students assigned to MH 100 must make a "C" or higher before registering for any other mathematics course. Topics covered are real numbers, variable expressions, solving equations, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, linear equations, and inequalities. Prerequisites: 14 on ACT math subscore or appropriate placement score.
