Master of Business Administration

Program Admission Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2.75 grade point average (four-point scale) or graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher with a minimum of 3.0 grade point average (four-point scale).**

Applicants who do not meet the undergraduate GPA requirement, but have a minimum GPA of 2.5 will be given the opportunity to demonstrate an ability to succeed at the graduate level by successfully completing 12 credit hours while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. The academic unit will re-assess students' ability to continue in MBA program after assessing grades earned in first four (4) courses. 

** NOTE:  MBA 500  must be completed during first semester or online term of enrollment in the MBA program.  A grade of "P" is required prior to enrolling in any AC, EC, FI, or BQ course, and MG 590  and MK 572  .   

A score of 80% or higher must be achieved on initial assessments in the areas of Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Statistics of MBA 500 .  If an 80% or higher is not achieved on the above assessments, a student must pay for and successfully complete the applicable leveling course(s) embedded in MBA 500 with a minimum score of 80%.

IV. Program Completion Requirements


  • Completion of all courses required in the curriculum with a 3.0 quality point average (overall and in each requirement area).  Any awarding of an F or D grade results in immediate dismissal from the graduate program.  A maximum of two C grades is allowable; however, the awarding of a third C grade results in dismissal from the MBA program.
  • At least 33 semester hours within the required areas.
  • Student may opt to complete a six (6) hour Master's Project (BA 599 ) and three (3) elective hours to fulfil the nine (9) hours required in emphasis area or nine (9) hours in emphasis area and a comprehensive examination.

Note(s):


Leveling courses are paid for by the student.  A score of 80% or higher must be obtained on each leveling course in order to receive a grade of 'P' in MBA 500  Orientation and Assessment.  MBA 500  is a non-credit hour course.
