Integrated Marketing Communications Major: Sports Communications Track

Degree programs offered by the College of Liberal Arts and its departments share a common core of courses. Students in these programs must complete the Basic Curriculum, and the major curriculum listed below. IMC Sports Communications Track students must complete EC 201 Principles of Microeconomics (3)  as one of the Social and Behavioral Science electives in the core curriculum.

Major Requirement: 72 hours


Upper-Level Cognate Area: 9 hours


Nine semester hours from the following:

  • Approved electives in IMC from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in Marketing from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in Psychology from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in Sociology from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in History from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in Sport Management from the 300-400 level
  • Approved electives in Speech from the 300-400 level

Department-Approved Elective Courses: 13 hours


  • IMC students must complete thirteen (13) hours of electives to reach a total of 120 hours in the program. Appropriate elective courses must be approved by the Communications Department Chair. Technical credits may be used to satisfy the IMC elective requirements if approved by the Dean as appropriate to the interdisciplinary nature of IMC.
