Computer Engineering Technology (CET) prepares the student to use basic and advanced knowledge of computer information systems and engineering principles. The program also discusses the overview of cybersecurity and related issues, secure network infrastructure, operating systems, risk management, and prevention techniques from hacking.
CET prepares students for technical skills related to hardware and software installing, configuration of network devices, maintaining computers, peripherals, networks, and microprocessor and computer-controlled equipment.
The degree includes instruction in networking, cybersecurity, ethical hacking, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity risk, mathematics, computer electronics, computer programming, system installations, testing, solid state, circuitry, peripheral equipment, and report preparation.
A successful graduate should qualify for employment opportunities in Computer Information fields, electronics technology, computer services, computer networks, server maintenance, cybersecurity analyst, programming and other areas requiring knowledge of electronic and computer systems.
Graduates may also qualify to appear for certification in electronics, computers, or network based on testing requirements.
