Master of Business Administration

Program Admission Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2.75 grade point average (four-point scale) or graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher with a minimum of 3.0 grade point average (four-point scale). Students with a 2.75 GPA and a business degree are not required to take BA 501 Foundations of Business .  

Students who do not meet the undergraduate GPA requirement, but have a minimum GPA of 2.5 will be admitted on a conditional basis.

II. Choose one of the following emphases:


A. General Business Emphasis: 9 hours


Nine semester hours from any combination of courses in any emphasis (prerequisites are required, if applicable):


B. Accounting Emphasis: 9 hours


C. Computer Information Systems Emphasis: 9 hours


D. Computing and Data Analytics: 9 hours


E. Cybersecurity, Cybercrime, and Policy Emphasis: 9 hours


F. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Emphasis: 9 hours


G. Finance Emphasis: 9 hours


H. Integrated Marketing Communications Emphasis: 9 hours


I. Management Emphasis: 9 hours


J. Marketing Emphasis: 9 hours


K. Sport Management Emphasis: 9 hours


III. Program Completion Requirements


  • Completion of all courses required in the curriculum with a 3.0 quality point average (overall and in each requirement area).  Any awarding of an F or D grade results in immediate dismissal from the graduate program.  A maximum of two C grades is allowable; however, the awarding of a third C grade results in dismissal from the MBA program.
  • At least 33 semester hours within the required areas.
  • Student may opt to repeat XX-598 for a total of six semester hours and three (3) elective hours to fulfill the nine (9) hours required in emphasis area.
